The group Sing with US came about when some members of The Uckfield Singers wished to take a more informal repertoire of songs out to community groups or local care homes in order to encourage audiences to join in with the singing. So our singalongs were born. Our first Singalong was in November 2015.
We are all volunteers, just singing for the love of it and especially enjoying those that we visit joining in with the simple songs that are sung. Each singalong lasts about half an hour with songs ranging from wartime favourites to those of the 1960s and a few even later.
One visit per month is organized and is free of charge to the group we visit although a cuppa is always welcome at the end.
Our main aim is to give our time freely, to share our love of singing with folks who may not be able to enjoy it in the way they have in the past and to show appreciation of the support our community gives to The Uckfield Singers.
The current organiser of this group is Pat Mayes so, should you wish for us to visit your group (needs to be local to Uckfield and its surrounding villages), please contact Pat by using the details on the "Contact Us " page.

Some feedback from homes/community groups
"Just a short note to thank you very much for coming along on Monday. You were the talk of the supper table apparently and to me it was lovely watching one of our residents transport herself mentally to a much happier time. What an incredibly special thing to do. Anytime you want to come back – please let us know. It was amazing."
“The group really did enjoy themselves - some were feeling pretty down on that day and I was watching as they unfolded and began to join in. We were a little earlier finishing than usual and so everyone had to wait for their drivers - suddenly someone started singing and before we knew it we were having another real old sing song!! The magic of song & music - a wonderful and joyous thing.”
“Wanted to thank you and the ‘choir’ for your wonderful afternoon of entertainment to our homeowners….An inspiration to the joy of singing and here’s to hoping that the choir goes from strength to strength”.
"It was enjoyed by all, music is such a massive part of what we do at Sussex support service and it always goes down well. "
